Edward collingridge commented on 1875 Enfield - Single shot lever action rifle
it appeares to be a MkII Martini , however the front band is wrong way around. The bayonet mounts on the right side. Otherwise correct.
This is a British Martini-Henry rifle in calibre .450/577 There were 4 basic models of the long rifle Mk I II & III all have the short lever - as this has. It was the standard British service rifle from 1874 through to 1889. Many were rebarreled in .303 for latter use.
