Hello Louise. Without seeing an image of this card I think that it is from the first set of "Notable Persons" cards issued by the Australian Licorice Company in 1940. This detail should be on the back of the card. Four sets of these cards were issued and as World War 2 progressed, cards of Stalin, Hitler, Himmler and Hirohito were withdrawn from the sets of cards. Depending on condition these cards generally sell for between 50 cents and $5 each. Please call me on 0418 552 629 if you want any further information. Regards JohnD

Hi James - I made some enquiries about my Dad's cards, and other than one set which could be worth a few hundred dollars (they are from 1912). I live in the UK, and I sent the list and photos to a cigarette card firm here to see what they had to say, and the balance were assessed and worth next to nothing, because even though there are a lot of complete sets, they are relatively common. It may be that my Dad's "collection" isn't great, so worth getting it your fathers looked at. Hoped this helps.

Hi. I have a collection of 138 postcards from my mother's estate. They date from 1903 to 1909 (the vast majority are post marked Adelaide) depicting locations in Australia, some overseas locations and novelty postcards. Although I think they are beautiful I do not know what to do with them. They do not relate to my family but I didnt want them to be thrown out when mum's estate was distributed. I think it would be best to sell them either individually or as a collection and need to try to find out their value as I have no idea. Would it be possible for one of you to contact me? Many Thanks
