Kevin bloomfield thank you for your wonderful message. I too am surprised that we have not come across each other considering our passion for collecting and admiring the late Dame Elizabeth Taylor. Great to here that you managed to acquire a few new pieces from the December Juliens auction. I too also managed to acquired a few unique personal items, you know picture frames and home ornaments and such. As you can gather my collection has always steered towards the personal aspects of Miss Taylor's life. The reason that I am doing sizing is because I have decided that the newest items are more relevant to me and that I would like others to become the custondians of some of the other items in my collection. Wonderful collection. I,m surprised I have not known about you & your collection before. I am also massive fan of Elizabeth Taylor (for 40 years) & I am sure I would have amassed something similar to you if it were not for the fact I can't resist buying costumes for many other stars like Debbie Reynolds & Linda Darnell. I did bag 2 items in the Juliens auction in December, one being the 'Cleopatra' pink nightgown & the 'Cleopatra' crown from the 'Battle of Actium' scene. I am also the proud owner of a jacket she wore in 'Little Women'. Enjoying the photos of your items. I won a few lots at the Julien’s auction in December. I enjoy researching items as well. One item I won is a cross-stitch in a frame with little letters HH down on corner. Still wondering who that was. I doubt Hedda Hopper!

Like everything else we've seen in this fabulous collection, Elizabeth's coat is no less spectacular in its presentation and provenance. It must have taken a great deal of in-depth research over what must have been thousands of photographs and articles to find one garment out of what must have been a vast wardrobe of upscale clothes bought and worn by Goddess Elizabeth. Surely there is no one like Wayne who can see beneath the Hollywood plastic to find the real Elizabeth Taylor though her choices of attire. Surely no celebrity has ever had a more devoted and loyal fan. Thank you, Wayne.

I can say that when we bought this item, we never realized how magnificent and elegant it really was, nor did we have the provenance (history) that is given here, to really understand what this must have mean to Elizabeth. It just personifies her life and her style, even in her later years, and just creates its own subtle yet elegant ambience around it. We can only fantasize how she may have looked and felt wearing this as she casually mingled with her friends over cocktails and hors d'oeuvres at a mid-afternoon Beverly Hills pool party. She was 110% Hollywood Royalty, lounging about her home in this royal gown.
