This is a 60s 70s vintage David Brown I Magnin California label loungewear hostess dress. A white and red dotted maxi dress. Dots are in varying sizes which were inspired by Op-Art, worn by the Oscar-winning actress, Elizabeth Taylor.
Taylor was extremely well-known and liked both for her great acting accomplishments and for her charity activities which she pursued into her final days. This and other comfortable and loose-fitting elegant hostess gowns were often worn by her as she hosted many Hollywood parties and innumerable charity events.
Julien's describes the gown as, " a graphic white floral print on a navy background, zip front, and matching belt." It has "David Brown" and Magnin labels, marked "Size M." Most of Elizabeth Taylor's David Brown hostess designs were purchased at this world-famous luxury Beverly Hills store, I. Magnin.
