Is this collection open for visits?

The majority of items and photos on this site are sadly not part of my collection, they are photos from other people's collections, photos from the internet and various other sources. So this isn't a display of one collection, but more a resource of information and photos that ANYONE can contribute to.

Part of my aim is to share my knowledge and photos, the other part is to hopefully get other collectors to share information and photos...(and maybe sell me items if I am lucky).

Ida Rentoul Outhwaite's output is finite and I hope to get as close as possible to listing it all in the one place, with photos.

I'd even be interested in hearing a rumour - e.g. "I think my grandmother had a copy of  Ida Rentoul Outhwaite's 'Cinderella's Dream', that was in an original box, with a bar of Velvet soap".

'The Collecting Bug' seems to be the perfect forum for me to share my knowledge and hopefully expand on it.  I am very grateful to Philip and his team for that.

What are your other interests?

Regarding the compiling of this list of Ida Rentoul Outhwaite items, much of the credit must go to the pioneering work of Marcie Muir and Robert Holden in putting together the wonderful 1985 biography "The Fairy World of Ida Rentoul Outhwaite". Even after my 15+ years of focused collecting, with the benefit of Ebay and internet book sites, very little turns up that Marcie and Robert hadn't recorded. ...and even then, this list has items I think Marcie & Robert chose not to include e.g. items that advertised IRO items or items with small IRO biographies. Also, everything post-1985 is after the biography was published anyway.

In about 2005, Michael Organ of NSW took the time to collate and greatly expand on all the available bibliographic information and post it on the internet. A link to Michael's IRO website is included in my 'links and resources'.

This list builds directly on Michael's dedicated work and ideas. So I am very grateful to him and for his permission to expand on what he did.
