Dear Katharine We have looked and are unable to find any information about Katrine Foulds. With regret From Nursing Museum Curator

Dear Jennifer If the belt buckle is silver there should be a jeweller's mark which can provide a date. A reputable jeweller should be able to assist. If the buckle is a hospital insignia, this may be more problematic. The hospital is it still exists may be able to assist if you know to whom the buckle belonged. from Janie Mason AM DLitt CDU Nursing Museum Curator

The fishing photo was from Gunbalunya. Aunty Bev loved her fishing. Thank you for taking the time to catalogue this. Cheers

How lovely to hear from you and I do love the story of the back door of the ambulance! from Janie Mason AM DLitt, Nursing Museum Curator

What a lovely surprise to see that I am finally old enough to be in a museum. I have so many fond memories of my placement at Gapuwiyak. The vehicle in the photo was the ambulance and the back door wouldn't stay closed so when you had someone in the back you had to put a rope around the door handle and secure it to the headrest of the front seat. Great times.

Dear Anne Thank you for your query. there are several photographs connected to Adelaide House on the Nursing Museum catalogue - just enter "Adelaide House" to search. Probably you would be advised to search with the Library and Archives NT - they will have a more extensive collection relating the era. From Janie Mason, Nursing Curator

I note that your photo collection includes pics of AIM nurses Kelsall and Forsyth (on camels). Several years ago Adelaide House (in Alice Springs) produced a touch screen which included stories of the first nurses (including Srs Kelsall and Forsyth) but we did not come across these images - am wondering if you have other images relating to the 1926 - 1939 era of Adelaide House? Thanks Anne

Dear Amy Thank you for your email. We already have two examples of this St Vincent’s Hospital nurse’s belt buckle so the Charles Darwin University Nursing Museum is unable to accept the offer of your mother’s buckle. But you have added further information for our catalogue entry. I was unaware previously that the buckle was also awarded in Sydney St Vincent’s. Of course it is obvious but I just hadn’t thought of it. Also the Victorian Collections only mentions the Melbourne St Vincent’s for their catalogue. Many thanks From Janie Mason, AM DLitt, Curator

I have two of these, belonging to my mother, who did her training in the late 1950's/early 1960's at St Vincents Kings Cross/Darlinghurst

Dear Rohan Thank you for that information. I have added your information about this book which pushes the date baack to the early 1880s. I have adjusted the catalogue entry appropriately from Janie Mason, Nursing Museum Curator

I have a copy of this. Although there is no publication date, I note the prescription record section in the back is dated 1880. I read elsewhere that this book was published in 1884.

Hi Sr. Moore. I was wondering if I could send you an email. I've been speaking with Dhuwarrwarr Marika for an article on her life and was wondering if I could ask you some questions? My email is [email protected]

Dear Margaret Thank you for your comment. Can you advise how the search did not work for you? We do want our catalogue not only to look pretty but to be very user friendly for the visitor to our site. As the museum workers who are working with this new catalogue [editing and adding], we have found it very friendly so would be interested to know how to make it easier for you to look around from Janie Mason, Curator

A really lovely way in which to display your catalog. Perhaps it is because I am a guest, but the search functiionality seems less than satisfactory.
