About

WELCOME TO MY ST GEORGE COLLECTION. Please have a look around, and if you would like to leave a comment it would be great to hear from you. This website has been created to track my growing collection of autographed cards and other memorabilia. The collection displayed currently is by no means complete but it is a growing catalog as I find the time to photograph and upload it all. I am always interested in growing my collection. If you click the link "more about me" you will find a link to a website were you will find my items wanted and available for trade. The Red V is a part of me.

What do you collect?

All rugby league memorabilia related to St George / St George Illawarra.

Primarily trading cards but it extends to all framed memorabilia, jerseys, posters badges.

I'm a  tragic so anything red and white really.

How long have you been collecting?

Rough Timeline below:

The start: I collected as kid through 1974-78 and was damn good at flicks as was the trend with trading cards in that era.

The lost years: As an young adult 15yo -30yo lost interested and even threw out a couple of shoeboxes full of all those 70s cards. Oh the pain of that memory, I could probably have bought a boat with what they are now selling for.

The Present: Married, have kids, my son (St GEORGE SUPPORTER) got some packs and an interest in collecting around 2006, it was like cardboard crack for his dad and now I have been actively collecting again for 10+ years.

Why does it interest you?

Born and bred in the heart of St George area at the end of the great premiership rein, at a time when Rugby League support was tribal and part of the family inheritance so in reality I had no choice and know nothing else.

Rugby League is the greatest game on earth.

Is this collection open for visits?

Not officially but enquieies considered.

What are your other interests?

My hobby obsessive nature had my breeding African Cichlids during the years I didn't collect footy cards.

I still maintain a small fish room in the garage and a display tank in the house.

With a family, work and kids there isn't enough hours for anything more.

Is there anything you wish you knew as a beginner?

Oh God here comes that memory again.............dont throw out shoeboxes full of valuable footy cards!!!!
